Welcome, traveller! My name is Eramir, chronicler of Merregnon. And behold, there is plenty to report of our country!

You must know that our kingdom Merregnon had once been founded by a group of far-travelled mages who named themselves "Ad Dodrikusd". But their ambitions were as sinister as their power was strong. Our people were prey to them, and many were brutally enslaved to serve their needs. Yet no mischief lasts forever, and so the oppressed stood up to overcome the tyrants. After a long and bloody war they triumphed and won back their freedom.

These days our realm is ruled by Arames, our king. Some say he were no righteous king, but I urge you to not believe these people. Do not forget visiting Lascest when you travel our land. That place bore many legends, it is home to well-known dragon slayers and other women and men. Young Erestor will maybe one day follow this way, since he, much like Gallahadt and Selina, carries the sign of a greater destiny. How fortunate that they found a wise mentor in Ordim. Who else could foretell their future if not he? Certainly not that witch Farganda, who cannot even decide which shape to take on! But enough of that...

Let me speak a final word of warning. Should you ever journey through our realm, beware of the high mountain. Surgids live there. They thurst for the blood of foolhardy wanderers. And watch out for dragons. They must not be trusted as their history is a long and frightful one. I assume I have now kept you long enough. Go now. I hope to welcome you again soon.
