4Players.de just revealed that video game music veteran Chris Huelsbeck is planning to release a new album - after ten years of silence. Release date of the new album: August 22, 2007. The CD will be sold for the first time at the Fifth Symphonic Game Music Concert exclusively. Chris Huelsbeck will stand available for an autograph session at the Gewandhaus concert hall. Chris Huelsbeck explained that the album (Catalogue number: HCD9) will come with new electronic music, no remixes of old games, although the style is going to be retro mainly. Fifth Symphonic Game Music Concert announced Wednesday, 4. April 2007, 12:57

Ticket sales for the Fifth Symphonic Game Music Concert just started. The production involves several members of Merregnon, including Andy Brick, Jonne Valtonen, Chris Huelsbeck, Yuzo Koshiro and Thomas Boecker. The concert will be held on August 22, 2007 at the famous Gewandhaus zu Leipzig in Germany. Conducted by Andy Brick, the FILMharmonic Orchestra Prague will be supported by a choir again. Titles from games such as StarCraft, Final Fantasy XI, Ragnarok 2, Stranglehold, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Secret of Mana, The Abbey and Turrican 2 will be presented. The concert will also feature two medleys of music from Commodore 64- and Amiga-classics. Accomplished Japanese opera singer Izumi Masuda will perform music from Final Fantasy XI and singer Conny Kollet will come back to Leipzig this year presenting the title theme from the game Stranglehold. The Merregnon 1 album is available for download at iTunes starting from today. The original album was released in 2000 and praised by the media and fans alike.
