What is being told is the fantasy story of young Gallahadt, who, on a search for his beloved Selina, will have to pass many adventures.

Ripped out of his former, comfortable dream world, he starts to take action, and in so doing scares up the ghosts of a truth which gives him an all new picture of the world around him.

Nothing is what it seemed to be - and at the end of his journey through deep valleys and ravines, after battles with foreign races and the final encounter with a dragon, one line from his foster father Ordim will have burnt itself into his mind: "The ability of making decisions divides mankind into winners and losers."
