Symphonic Fantasies featuring Jonne Valtonen Saturday, 24. January 2009, 10:00

The WDR Radio Orchestra Cologne and the WDR Radio Choir Cologne will present the "Symphonic Fantasies" concert on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 8 PM. This highly anticipated concert will feature music from the video game soundtracks of Square Enix. The Japanese company Square Enix is rated as one of the world's best known producers of digital entertainment software. Jonne Valtonen, the music lead at Merregnon Studios, has been hired to arrange the music for the "Symphonic Fantasies" concert in Cologne exclusively, using classics such as Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Kingdom Hearts and Secret of Mana. Though Valtonen has amazed fans and critics alike with his scores for video game concerts all over the world, "Symphonic Fantasies" just may be his biggest challenge to date. Grammy-winning artist Arnold Roth will conduct the 70 minutes long concert. Roth is a classical trained violinist, conductor and composer. Tickets for "Symphonic Fantasies" are available now, ranging from EUR 6 to EUR 30. Pupils, students up to 35 years, trainees, severely handicapped persons, people who do military service or alternative service and holders of the Cologne Pass get a 50% discount on the regular ticket price by presenting a certificate. New Huelsbeck CD to be released in December Saturday, 29. November 2008, 12:15

[UPDATED]: The time has come. The concert album "Symphonic Shades" featuring the music of video game music legend Chris Hülsbeck will be released on December 17, 2008. The CD contains all of the compositions that were presented live in concert on August 23, 2008 in Cologne, Germany. "At last, fans will be able to listen to the music of the concerts in the highest quality even if they were unable to attend in person due to the overwhelming demand for tickets from all over the world." says Thomas Böcker, Executive Producer of the concerts and the CD album. The CD, with a running time of about 70 minutes, is available for 22,00 EUR (MSRP) and can be ordered at the MAZ Sound Tools GmbH. The MAZ Sound Tools GmbH is now also offering mp3 snippets of the CD album.

Merregnon members at Symphonic Game Music Concert Saturday, 4. August 2007, 23:03

Several Merregnon members will attend this year's Fifth Symphonic Game Music Concert on August 22, 2007: Andy Brick, Chris Huelsbeck, Allister Brimble, Yuzo Koshiro, Olof Gustafsson and Jonne Valtonen will join the event. Jonne Valtonen will come to the Leipziger Gewandhaus for the first time. He orchestrated several pieces for the latest concert including the C64- and Amiga-Medley, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Secret of Mana.
